Ace Sheds overlap sheds are created from 100% pressure treated wood, which reduces your maintenance costs by effectively protecting the building from the effects of British weather. Many of our components, such as our stainless steel ring nails are rust-resistant, further extending the longevity of the product.
What are Overlap Sheds?
The overlap is a design style of cladding which is typically used for garden sheds and wooden workshops, also referred to as feather edge cladding.
Overlap sheds are built by successively overlapping horizontal wooden panels so to create a series of sloping surfaces. This style of cladding creates a secure fixture that allows rainwater and precipitation to run-off. Due to gravitational pull and the slopping effect, water doesn’t have a chance to penetrate the wood acting as a preventative to decay and moisture buildup.
Unlike sheds with tongue and groove cladding, overlap sheds don’t have a closed seal between panels which allows for good ventilation, also helping keep mould and rot at bay.
The roughly sawn edges of the boards give the building its distinctive rustic and natural look which is ideal for those who like their sheds to blend into their garden landscapes.
A cheaper alternative to shiplap garden sheds, overlap sheds are popular because the design of the build is more basic, making it better suited to those on a budget.
